    From my son:

    Dad,

There is an issue with some of the chain stores listed below.  While it may be the HQs policy to offer the discounts, they do leave it up to the individual franchise to set local policy.  Some do offer it, some dont, and even some dont realize it is a policy at all.  Quiznos is a good example of this.  It is chain policy to offer 25% discount, however only one of the two locations near us offer it due to the sheer volume of Soldiers the store frequents..

We have actually gotten pretty good about asking everywhere we go, you never know if you dont ask.  Usually it is only around 10%, but heck it covers tax in most locations.  Sometimes the savings can be pretty substantial.

    Love ya,
    John

    John,

Just to follow up on what has been mentioned. I do know that Home Depot in our area does offer a 10% discount to our Military and Vets. The store near me has quite a few Vets working there. I went with my son to purchase a new refrigerator for his new home and we got the Military Discount. As your son mentioned, it off sets the Tax a bit. Good for big ticket items.

At AMC Harley-Davidson, we believe in honoring the men and women who have undertaken the task to keep our Country, our streets, and our families safe. Having members on our staff who have served in the Armed Forces and who have "served and protected", we know the commitment that goes into "swearing to uphold".

For any veteran and for any active, reserve, or retired member of a law enforcement, corrections, or fire department, get 15% off* Labor at AMC.

Valid ID card or veteran association card(e.g. Legion, AmVets, VFW, etc.) must be shown at time of purchase.

    * Cannot be combined with other offers or specials and cannot be applied to previous purchases. Discount does not apply to maintenance or repair of fleet vehicles. Excludes labor for crash repairs.
