Memorial Tattoos

My very first tattoo, ever. In memory of LCpl. Norman Anderson & Cpl. Joshua Snyder. May God Bless all our Marines!!

My husband got this one........he'll carry them with him everywhere. A Marine himself (active duty 89'-93') . He's now in the National Guard and soon heading to the sand box.

Marine Wife Tattoo

I got this tattoo for my husband when he graduated his MOS at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

It was at Show Me Skin. The guy drew it up to look like a steel rose and barb wire. I LOVE IT!

My first but certainly not last tat. He ended up going and getting an EGA but with our wedding date underneath as well. SEMPER FI MARINES!

OOOORAH!

Tattoo and Funny Pictures

I have a picture of a tattoo that is almost done. I have to put 11 more names down on the other arm. They are the men from Echo 2/4 Ramadi Iraq, 2004. The other two are just pictures of myself that we took over there that are pretty damn funny

Marine Wife Tattoo

SGT. GRIT

My name is courtney i am 26yrs old and the proudest ever wife of lcpl kendzierski (known by the guys as ski) before meeting my husband i have to be honest in saying it was rare that i thaught about all the freedoms i had in my everyday life even after 9/11 i did'nt think much of the everyday sacrifices our men and women fight and sometimes die for everyday. At the time of 9/11 i was a firefighter which is something i know so watching the news it was then the firefighters whom stood out to me and what they were doing it was'nt until meeting my marine that i came to understand just how much to a civilian the phrase 'out of sight out of mind' actually means i currently live In Camp Lejuene N.C after moving here 2 yrs ago and seeing everyday our marines shipping out then coming home just to ship out again usually with in 6 or 7 months of returning seeing the familys left behind and the wives left alone to hold down the fort at home but at the sametime not be scared and be strong for the kids seeing even the marines as they leave try to be strong but upon boarding the bus it's clear the billowing up of tears in their eyes as they drive off trying so hard not to allow it be known as they watch their families dissapear in the distance and every couple weeks Lejeune blvd is covered again in welcome home signs some with pictures of babies whom have still yet to meet their daddys after all this i have expierenced in just 2 years i can only say wow at how much i never knew as a civilian about our real hero's and there familys and the sacrafices they make and have made for many years even with my husband currently on his 2nd deployment 1st in iraq i would'nt trade this life for anything what relationships do you know of who get to meet their husbands for the first time many times because thats what life is like everytime i see my husband step off that bus returning from another deployment

Handwriting Tattoo

Just wanted to show you my tattoo. I got it in Vegas. I wanted to get something to memorialize my husband Don. Don always said it was bed luck to get your loved one's name for a tattoo so I avoid that! I came up with this idea....it's from a letter he wrote from Kuwait...the "just in case I don't come home letter." It's his handwriting.

Every single time I look down I get to see my husband's writing and beautiful words.

Eagle and Flag Tattoo

Oorah, and Happy Birthday Sgt. Grit!

I got this latest tattoo because I'm just absolutely in love with the Corps, and can't find enough ways to show it. It's a slight modification from a WWII recruiting poster I found, and I think it turned out GREAT! Heres to another 232 years of being the best!

Skin for them all

Gentlemen,

These pictures were forwarded to my family as soon as I was done. This tattoo took 8 months of brainstorming. I come from a long line of heroes and service members. I don't have the skin for them all but I can at least represent the two men who mean the most to me. My father as a man and as a Marine in Vietnam, my turn (twice) in the sands of Iraq and my best friend, my brother in Afghanistan. This small symbol is a representation of our bond and love of this country. Please display this on your website as proudly as I do.

Thank you,
SSgt Thornton Ben W.

Figured It Was Time

Well after seeing all of the Ink on your sight I figured it was time to go out and get another Marine Corps tattoo.

I proudly served my time with the 1st Battalion 7th Marines in 29 Palms back in the Mid 90's.
Thanks And keep on fighting the good fight.

My First Tattoo

My First Tattoo

Sgt Grit, I have read your newsletter for about a year now both enjoy and anticipate every issue. I am a 61 year old Viet Nam Veteran, I spent 13 years in our beloved Marine Corp and never got a Tattoo. Well last week my son and my daughter finally talked me into getting one and I would like to share it with you, my "Brother & Sisters" and all of your loyal readers. My time was spent at H&S Bn, Support Co, MHE Plt, RVN, as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic at ASP1 behind "Freedom Hill" from Jan 1970 till Dec 1970. I would like to correspond with anyone that served there at the same time. Thanks for allowing me to post this on your excellent site. Keep up the good work and May GOD BLESS you and your organization and ALL of our troops who have or are now serving OUR Glorious Country.

Marine Frog Tattoo

Marine Frog Tattoo

I lost my husband almost 10 yrs ago. His first love was U.S.M.C., second love was wife and family and thrid love was American Legion. We were married 36 yrs. Due to remark made by his mother in law, we started collecting frogs. Since his call sign in Korea was Omar, he became Omarfrog on the computer. I coped for a long time pretending he was on his 2 week active training. Last Dec, to celebrate my 65th birthday I decided to keep him near my heart and designed this tattoo.

Moto Tattoo

Moto Tattoo

This is a tattoo I had personaly drawn up in MOS school. Its a unique EGA with a secondary meaning behind it. The world is purple because its poisoned, and the hardcore eagle (our nation) is bleeding out all of the poisoned blood from the world. Which is what we do as Marines.

A Tattoo For My Love

A Tattoo For My Love

My name is Amie Holloway, widow of Matthew Holloway, KIA Jan 13 of 05. I started this tattoo on his birthday the year I lost him. We were married only 9 months, I was 20 years old. He was a Marine through and through. The middle flower started it all, it is a Orchid with a Gold Star in the center. The Star Gazer Lilly's were added on our 1 year Anniversary, they are the flowers Matt always gave me..The Hibiscus is from a plant I got that I call my "Matt Plant". The Plumeria flowers are for when I went to Hawaii to stay with a good friend in 2005, who I also just lost Aug. 2007 in Iraq. The playing card is when I went to Vegas with my family for my 21st birthday, 10 moths after I lost Matt.. All together it has been 14 hours for this tattoo. I will slowly add more to it as the years go by and as I do more things without him. I am so proud of my marine.
