The Purple Heart ribbon pin from SGT GRIT is an officially licensed Purple Heart pin design awarded in the name of a soldier wounded or killed while serving with U.S. military troops. It's the military's oldest decoration, and the honor is awarded in the name of the president of the United States.
George Washington's profile is on the medal, because this award began as the Badge of Military Merit ordered by the Founding Father in 1782.
